WELS; this standard was introduced to enhance water conservation. The higher the WELS rating, the lower is the water flow.
Tapware comes in either standard hot and cold washers or ceramic disks. Ceramic disks are renowned to wear longer than the standard washer and have a more gentle closing mechanism.
In a situation where 3 piece tapware is to be used in an older dwelling, sometimes spindle extensions may be required. This could also apply in a renovation or new dwelling when thicker than normal wall tiles are used.
All tapware carries a manufacturer's warranty up to 15 years in some cases. Warranties can come in the form of replacement or repair as the individual manufacturers see fit. It is recommended that all written warranties be kept in a safe place.
When deciding on tapware, consideration should be given as to whether the fittings are to be in a square or round format. Some of the newer styles of tapware have both round and square features to be more versatile.
